The Symptoms, Causes and Risk Factors of Low Blood Pressure (Hypotension)

Most people are worried about high blood pressure. It’s known to have many complications and problems. However, having excessively low blood pretty can cause some serious issues. People can feel very dizzy or faint. In some severe cases, low blood pressure can even lead to life threatening situations.

Blood pressure is measured as two numbers. The top number or first number is the systolic pressure, while the bottom or second number is the diastolic pressure. For most people, a reading of 90 mm Hg for systolic is considered low. Meanwhile, any reading of 60 mm Hg or lower is considered low. This would commonly be read as 90/60 mm Hg.
