There are thousands of viruses people can catch that seem to hit them out of nowhere. A norovirus infection is one type of virus that starts suddenly and leaves a person extremely ill and dehydrated in a matter of several hours. Enduring norovirus can continue to infect people for weeks after a person was initially ill.

The norovirus infection doesn’t take long to begin impacting the body. It’s usually between 12 to 48 hours after exposure. An infected person will begin to experience many of the uncomfortable symptoms such as abdominal pain, diarrhea and vomiting.
