How is C. Diff Spread? Is it Contagious?

Symptoms. The symptoms of the C. diff bacteria may actually reside in your intestine without you knowing it. Many people never become sick from it, though it’s possible they can still spread it. Symptoms will usually start somewhere between 5 and 10 days after you start an antibiotic treatment plan. There are some outlier cases where the symptoms occur immediately, or up to 60 days later. There are two very common symptoms for people with a C. diff infection. The first is suffering from some abdominal cramping and tenderness. This is usually mild but noticeable. The second main symptom is watery diarrhea. This will occur at least 3 times each day for several days.
